2014 Fall - Finding the Perfect Boot Collection

Anyone who knows me knows that I prefer to wear sandals. But having lived in Boston for over ten years I do have a soft spot for a good boot. Whether you lean more towards form or more towards function, the options for fashionable and comfortable boots are many. I personally lean towards low heels since I am usually chasing after three little ones. But if you like a heel, the stacked and platform styles will give you height with more support. Here in Marin, during the rainy season I wear a pair of Jcrew rainboots. Jcrew no longer carries the style I wear but there are similar boots available by Kamik  in a beautiful patenty chocolate hue.

I also like a slouchy suede boot  in a neutral like grey.

On my soon-to-buy list, an edgy bootie to wear with leggings and a tunic or dresses and skirts. Here are three options, the Alexandra , the Shiloh Cuff  and a Pikolinos Brujas style .

I am also searching for the perfect tall black boot. Stylistically I covet these Stuart Weitzman boots  but at $635 they are beyond my means.

These are close approximations at more affordable price points. The Riley Riding Boot  $99, the L-Motor Motorcycle Boot  $130 and the Karita Riding Boot $168.

A well fitting and stylish boot can very much make an outfit and if well taken care can last for many seasons. For me, wearing boots gives me an extra sense of power in my step so if you have not yet added this shoe staple to your wardrobe this may be the season to do so. Happy shopping!
