So I promised to make doughnuts in my new deep fryer and here is the recipe reality.
These are delicious but I wasn’t able to make them look as pretty as the original (though that may be because I was photographing at night and instead of using sifted powdered sugar dusted from a height I simply rolled the hot doughnuts into the sugar).
But they are so easy to make that I always have ricotta on hand just in case the craving grips me.
They are moist, fluffy but still doughnut dense. The lemon and vanilla are perfect together.
The kids and the husband devour these. And they are amazing with hot coffee - though aren’t most doughnuts?
